Dr. Visser and the whole staff are amazing! They made my experience wonderful and saved me tons of money. Other dentists had looked at my X-rays and immediately said I needed a root canal. Dr. Visser decided to take the time to take a closer look at my tooth and determined that a filling would do just fine. He checked up with me multiple times afterward to make sure it worked and nearly a year later it's been just fine. Also, the process was probably the best dental experience I've had. Dr. Visser made sure I was comfortable every step of the way, explained what he was doing and how everything looked, and just generally kept me completely informed about my options and how everything worked. I would highly recommend Genesis Dental to anyone. ~ Enoch L

Genesis Dental of Salt Lake is an amazing dental office. They are all so kind and make going to the dentist an easy experience. As soon as I walked in the door, I was greeted by Michelle, working at the front desk, who was very polite and let them know I was there right away to get my appointment started. Anastasia, an assistant, got right to work and had my x-rays done in no time. Cory, a hygienist, gave me a cleaning, she was extremely nice and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. Dr. Boyack made sure I knew everything I needed to know, he also made plenty of light conversation which made the whole experience much better. If you’re looking for a dental office that has outstanding care and hospitality for their patients, look no further! Genesis Dental is the place to go. ~ Kaitlyn S

These guys are great. I came in a few weeks ago with a broken tooth needing a root canal, which I just had today. Everyone I worked with were just incredibly pleasant people - Angie, the office manager, Shante, the assistant, and Dr Boyak (there was another assistant helping out from time to time but I didn't catch her name). My procedure took longer than anticipated, and finished almost 45 minutes after hours, but at no point did I get an impression of frustration or impatience from any of the staff. Angie helped me out with payment options, showing me the breakdown of costs, and my options for payment, including their 'Loyalty program', and the assistants and Dr Boyak made sure I was comfortable throughout the whole procedure. Honestly, considering the magnitude of the root canal, probably the best dental experience I've had. ~ Joshua A

I love the genesis dental they ate friendly and so willing to make sure that you get every thing answered when you ask it taryn assistant is always very helping and makin sure that she ask all my question that I have no matter what she always explains every thing to me detailed its a great experience not to be lost on what is going on and Angie she makes sure that she goes The extra mile to call and get what ever needs to be fix the problem that is making it impossible to get done what u need she is very friendly and very right on top of things and drboyavk is the greatest making sure hr follow every dtro to make you like them anf your visits are every thing answered and would recommend them to every one I love how they fix my teeth and how great my smile looks now I love you guys are the best denture dentists around ~ Krazie H

I found Genesis dental by looking at different dentist who were in network with my insurance. I chose where I was going based solely upon my gut instinct while looking at the pictures of the different dentists! 😂 I was 100% spot on for this place! EVERYONE there was so wonderful from beginning to end. First I was welcomed immediately and warmly by the receptionist then I got to hang out with the awesome, knowledgeable, kind and informative duo - Hailey - the dental assistant and Cori the Hygenist. They were excellent at their skills and fun to hang out with too! They even mentioned how great Dr.Boyack is and how his positive and calm demeanor sets the tone for the whole office. I have been a patient with Genesis Dental for a long time and I LOVE IT! I get early appointments, which help me to get to work on time, and the staff are all soooo very nice and have an upbeat attitude when you come for your appointments or are on the phone with them. I appreciate that Dr. Visser stays up on the latest dental technology to help his patients have the best pain free experience possible. I have also had an emergency tooth situation in which the Dr. Visser came in after office hours to make sure that I was okay. I don't live downtown, but I travel to this branch of Genesis Dental because, well.......THEY'RE THE BEST IN TOWN!! I would definitely recommend you go see them for your dental needs, and tell them I sent ya. You're bound to get a good chuckle out of them if ya do:) ~ Melissa N

Dr. Boyack of Genesis Dental has been my dentist for many years. Along with the staff there, he's professional, friendly, and very competent. The last time I visited Dr. Boyack was because one of my wisdom teeth needed a crown. As he went through the drilling process there was a visiting dental student. Dr. Boyack carefully explained his steps, his preferences vs. what some other dentists did, and common pitfalls. The student was part of the discussion, and it was interesting to listen in; and nice to know that my dentist is helping to teach the next generation. The new location of Genesis Dental on South Temple is very convenient if you're arriving by car, with easy parking and access via the parking garage under the building. ~ Nicholas K

I had such a great experience with Dr. Boyack and Anastasia! I usually have extreme anxiety when going to the dentist but they were able to reassure me and put me at ease very quickly. I love that you can feel the great work environment, the staff was not only friendly to me but they were also professional and kind amongst themselves. Dr. Boyack made sure I was fully numb and was very aware of my comfort level the entire time, he made sure to check in with me frequently. I didn’t feel any part of my root canal aside from the numbing shot and that in itself was a huge relief and has helped ease my long term anxiety about going back. I had a great experience at Genesis Dental of Salt Lake. When I called to schedule for an appointment, Anastasia immediately responded the next day. She scheduled me an appointment within the following week. There was going to be a snow storm the week of my appointment and when I reached out to Anastasia she changed my appointment to a day that would benefit me the most. It didn't stopped there because when I made it to my appointment, Michelle, Julia, and Madison made sure I was taken care of and displayed one of the best customer service skills I've experienced in a while. My lifelong dentist retired, so I put off getting a new one for a couple years 😬 I finally ended up going with Genesis Dental because their staff didn't all look the same (you know what I mean, a lot dental offices seem like they have a prerequisite of looks and ages for their assistants, office staff, and hygienists... It's creepy!) and thankfully everyone here has been great! All of the dentists are knowledgeable, help me feel at ease, and my fillings have turned out great. I really like all of the staff here too! They are friendly and efficient, and it feels like my previous dentist's office where everyone knows the patients and cares about giving quality care. ~ Bridget S

I have gone to this office for over twelve years. The entire staff is excellent. They only do what is needed. I have had quite a few crowns, but never needed a root canal. I have never waited more than five minutes for an appointment. The dental hygienist cleans teeth thoroughly and meticulously. The dental assistant is the most skilled assistant I have ever had. The temporary crowns she makes fit as good as the permanent crowns. The staff works fast. A few months ago I had an old crown removed, a cavity repaired and new crown prep and temporary crown completed in less than 40 minutes. On one occasion when the lab made a crown that would have caused a slightly larger gap than needed, the dentist returned it to the lab and another was made. With such a professional, friendly and pleasant staff I look forward to going to the dentist and always enjoy the visits. ~ Brent N

Genesis dental is a quality dental experience. My father had a severe toothache and they saw him the morning we called in. The receptionists are kind and caring and Dr. Boyack is also kind and professional. He was thorough and detailed in the diagnosis and suggested follow up care. We will continue to have our dental needs taken care of at Genesis Dental. Also when calling into the service call center I spoke with Vicki about questions I had and she was very attentive, kind and professional in helping me with concerns and clarifying my needed answers. Genesis was recommended to me by my best friend. I needed a routine check up and cleaning. Dr Blackhurst is wonderful. He is so kind and considerate. Not to mention, he's the best dentist I've ever had in my 67 years, he's also completely pain-free! I had a couple small cavities, he got those filled and all was well. About a month later, I had a front tooth break right in half! I'd never had trouble with that tooth. I worked in a very public, front facing job. People were still wearing masks due to covid, but the restrictions were lifted. I wore a mask to work, Dr Blackhurst got me in that evening, and put on a temporary crown that was great till the permanent one got put in. I'd recommend this office to anyone! Especially people like me who are so traumatized by past experiences, they will put off seeing a dentist till they're in dire straights. You'll be glad you did! ~ Barbara L

Though only having been privy to being a denizen in SLC for a little over six months , one thing I’ve noticed during my weekly explorations of the city are the prodigious amount of dental offices available to visit (seriously, there are up to 2-3 dental offices per block in certain areas of SLC)....and so I feel lucky for having serendipitously stumbled across this location. For each of the three separate occasions I’ve been, Angie, Cori, and the rest of the exceptional staff have provided nothing short of outstanding patient care and communication. I seldom write reviews—for any sort of establishment—but Genesis Dental at the SLC location is deserving of one, and one of high praise. ~ Kainoa J

Dr. Boyack is intelligent, caring, and has a great sense of humor. He worked with me on a pulled tooth and a subsequent implant (which was an emotional experience for me as it took longer than expected- to no fault of Dr. Boyack's). Dr. Boyack was kind and patient during the whole process. He is fair, honest, and ethical (which can be hard to come by in a dentist in Utah as there is an overabundance of them and they need to make a living). He is quick and efficient and offers early and late appointments. Lastly (and most importantly!) Dr. Boyack is the only dentist I've ever been to where I don't feel pain. ~ Nichole C

Moving to SLC, one of the things I was nervous about was finding a good, honorable dentist. The folks at Genesis definitely do not disappoint. They are honest with their recommendations and thorough with their procedures. The most important part that will make me keep going back to them for my regular checkups is knowing they won’t advise anything that unnecessary just to make extra money, or do something detrimental that’s designed to make me undergo procedures that were originally unnecessary. In other words, these are good people that will take care of your dental needs at reasonable prices. ~ Christopher J

I have had the best time working with the team at the Salt Lake office. Cori is a rockstar in the dental hygienist world while dealing with my imperfect teeth. Let's just say that I had quite a few years of not taking proper care of my teeth as a young adult which I'm now paying the consequences for. Fortunately not too many cavities, but she has made the expected discomforts and embarrassment of doing deep cleanings a fairly enjoyable experience without those negative feelings. Dr. Boyack is also an expert of his craft, and without a doubt I will continue to recommend them to anyone. Well done! ~ Marcus T

I’ve gone to Genesis 3 times now and I still don’t have any complaints. After I had jaw surgery earlier in the year and my braces were removed. They helped me get all build up tarter off which was a little painful but only because I wasn’t doing routine cleanings… afterwards it was extremely freeing to not have that nasty build up before I got permanent retainers. My last visit was just a routine cleaning but I was really anxious about having both upper and lower permanent retainers. They cleaned my teeth beautifully and the retainers weren’t an issue! I’m very pleased with the care I was provided at this facility. ~ Autumn E

I had a lot of anxiety about going to the dentist, even for a cleaning, until we switched to Dr. Blackhurst. The office is pretty no-frills, but everyone is friendly and professional. The hygienists do a great job and Dr. Blackhurst is the best. I trust him not to recommend work that doesn't need to be done and when I did need a cavity filled, he was very careful and it was easily the least stressful experience I've had with dental work. On top of all that, there are several people in the office (including Dr. Blackhurst) who remember everyone who comes in and they'll ask about things we've talked about on previous visits. ~ Aubrey H

My two recent dental hygienists, Leah and Sierra were very competent, friendly and pleasant. Never had better. Former hygienists, Cori and Rachel, were also outstanding. I have same high regard for dental assistants, Anastasia and Julia; office manager, Michelle; front desk, Charity; and call center director, Vicki. Dr. Boyack is an excellent dentist. If a crown doesn’t fit just right, he sends it back to lab to redo. He has never brought up teeth whitening, but answered my questions and showed me a take home kit. Dr. Boyack once referred me to Dr. Parkin at Uptown Endodontists and together they saved my tooth. ~ B N

I absolutely love Genesis Dental and the welcoming staff there! I have been going here for some time now and have a high opinion of everyone here. Michelle always greets people with a bright smile and a warm hello. Anastasia makes great conversation while doing great work on your teeth. Dr. Boyack is thorough and makes sure that you receive the best of care. It was my first time today with Kaoly and she is a wonderful hygienist who was very careful and made me feel great about my teeth. After my previous dentist dislocated my tmj I was very hesitant about going out and finding a new dentist but I really needed a root canal and had already put it off for nearly a year and a half. After doing a lot of research I decided to give Genesis a try and am so happy I did. Dr. Boyack is the best ever! I told him I had a hard time getting numb for dental work and he made sure everything was 100% numb before he started instead of rushing into the root canal. I've also never has to sit and wait for my appointment they always get me back right away and I really like that. ~ Breanna D

After going to genesis dental of Salt Lake City I think I conquered my fear of the dentist everyone was so nice and understanding and explained and walked me through everything they were going to do unlike the last dentist I went to said I needed a specialist and wasn't comfortable with doing the work himself and then over at this location I found out I had a wisdom tooth which was causing me pain but got extracted today and I felt no pain so thank you Genesis dental of salt lake I think I have found a dentist office I'm comfortable with and not afraid of 👍 I highly recommend this place ~ Kierra R
